What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Services Financial Coordinator position at MTTI?
MTTI is a post-secondary career training institute located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. At MTTI, we train students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the workforce in nine different areas of technology: ranging from Automotive to Medical. Our goal is to offer quality, hands-on, education to qualified individuals who are unemployed or underemployed, and assist them in entering training-related employment. Reporting directly to the CFO the Student Services Financial Coordinator will perform a variety of detail-oriented tasks relating to student accounts. This position will also have some other general accounting and administrative responsibilities.
The duties include,
- Posting and Reconciling Title IV Payments
- Processing, posting and reconciling student payments and refunds
- Providing customer service in person, on the phone and through e-mail to students, parents and other agencies in response to billing and payment questions
- Auditing to ensure the accuracy of information on student accounts
- Resolving past due student accounts and reinforcing the past due policy
- Assisting with the month/year end processing including audits
- Maintaining unclaimed checks including contacting students and vendors to resolve un-cashed checks
- Coordinating with other departments including Financial Aid
- Communicating with agencies as required regarding outstanding receivables
- Other Duties as Assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Experience processing payments and preparing bank deposits
- Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn industry specific rules (Title IV, Financial Aid)
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information
