SALARY RANGE: $126,796.80 - $206,960.00

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Assure and monitor compliance with requirements of regulatory bodies, accrediting agencies, hospital policies, and laboratory policies and procedures in liaison with the Laboratory Medical Director.
Manage department operations to effectively set and achieve financial and productivity targets.
Responsible for ensuring departmental quality control and quality improvement systems are in place. Identify and monitor key departmental quality metrics.
Ensure optimal staffing plans for all laboratories to provide quality patient care services in conjunction with the needs of the section Medical Directors as appropriate.
In collaboration with section Medical Directors and in accordance with organizational goals, formulates and implements strategic plans for continual improvement and growth of laboratory services.
Oversee the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care across units.
Direct the implementation and oversight of MU Health Care time and attendance policies and practices.
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree.
Master's degree in healthcare administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Seven (7) years of related experience.
Experience with regulatory agencies such as CLIA, CMS, or DNV.
Certification: Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS or IMLS), categorical or specialist technologist (such as Chemistry, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Molecular Biology) by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Certified Point of Care Professional (CPP) by American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), or Clinical Laboratory Technologist by former Dept of Health Education & Welfare (HEW/HHS).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
