WHAT YOU’LL DO

1) Exemplifies MCR’s values and sets a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
2) Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
3) Produce product daily while maintaining quality standards and strong work ethic.
4) Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
5) Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
6) Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
7) Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
8) Ensure proper presentation to provide maximum appeal and freshness.
9) Maintain production knowledge and attention to detail with taste and quality.
10) Produce products in a cost effective and hygienic manner.
11) Adhere to departmental uniform standards.
12) Follow food storage principles and hierarchy per food code.
13) Constantly strive to improve operating procedures.
14) Properly label and date all products to ensure rotation, safekeeping, and sanitation.
15) Ensure food quality is superior and takes action to correct any irregularities.
16) Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
17) Work within the sanitation standards and in compliance of MIC, local, state, and federal regulations, and guidelines.
18) Work with others to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
19) Creates, maintains, and facilitates a positive and safe work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel.
20) Other duties as assigned. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
• 2 (two) years certificate from an accredited culinary program or minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar food service facility required.
• Valid WA State Health Card/Food Handler permit required.

HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL

• Knowledge of all applicable food sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required.
• Skilled in handling kitchen utensils including but not limited to knives.
• Skilled in basic math skills; demonstrate ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
• Ability to follow procedures and take directions.
• Ability to always maintain professional appearance and demeanor.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Availability – Ability to work different shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights to support a 24/7 operation.
• Physical – Ability to maneuver in all areas of casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
• Environment – Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
