What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Bather/Brusher position at Muddy Paws Pet Parlor?
Muddy Paws Pet Parlor is family owned and operated by a local mother and daughter team. We are looking to expand our growing business and family. We are looking for an experienced groomer, with a can-do attitude, great work ethic, and a passion for Animals. We provide a wide range of services for a wide range of animals from cats, dogs, goats, Birds, and many other exotic pets. At Muddy Paws Pet Parlor we pride ourselves in maintaining a stress-free, anxiety free, and cruelty free environment for all pets.
Responsibilities:
- Provide grooming services to a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and other small animals
- Perform bathing, brushing, and hair trimming according to client preferences and braid standards
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Monitor pets for any signs of health issues or discomfort and report any concerns to the pet owner or veterinarian
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area at all times
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year experience in a pet handling profession (Preferred)
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and calmly
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and understand their grooming preferences
- Patience and compassion towards animals, especially those who may be anxious or fearful during the grooming process
- Passion to help and treat animals
- Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to lift over 80lbs (REQUIRED)
Please Note: Heavy lifting may be required in some cases, especially when handling larger dogs or equipment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $10.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
