As the MarTech Engineering Lead, you will sit with our core product Engineering team, collaborating closely with the Marketing organization. We’re looking for a highly experienced candidate, capable of both driving technical implementation across web / native mobile applications and partnering with key stakeholders to determine strategy.
The broad scope of this role spans growth and retention, from acquiring new customers via paid advertising (targeting/attribution/optimization) and sales channels through lifecycle marketing.The ideal candidate will have either hands-on experience leading technical implementation of marketing and advertising systems at a startup of meaningful scale or will have worked as an engineer on the advertising platform side at a top-tier company (Facebook/Meta, Google, etc.).
This role involves a hybrid work approach, balancing in-office collaboration with the ability to work remotely.

Expectations (In this role, you will):
- Instrument our web and mobile applications according to the latest best practices for general analytics and campaign optimization
- Support data and marketing team stakeholders to build the best possible understanding of our customer acquisition landscape
- Implement new technologies to support novel and scalable approaches for lifecycle marketing across email, push, SMS, and custom product features
- Simplify technology in a way that internal stakeholders can understand
- Take ownership of projects from beginning to end
- Exhibit enthusiasm about sharing and adopting best practices with your team
- Be flexible--you understand the needs of a startup
- Be detail-oriented, a fast learner, and scrappy
- Strong current ecosystem knowledge of paid advertising (MMPs, SKAN, etc.)
- Understanding of email infrastructure as it pertains to delivering marketing communications (smtp, dkim/dmarc/spf, etc.)
- Understanding of SMS infrastructure as it pertains to delivering marketing messaging (short codes, a2p 10dlc, etc.)
- Backend engineering experience writing production code for applications with meaningful scale
- Demonstrated curiosity around data with deep SQL skills; you enjoy partnering with the data team but are comfortable “self-serving”
- Hands-on iOS or Android development experience (it’s more important to be able to direct this work vs. write the code)
- Experience integrating sales and marketing platforms like HubSpot and Braze
