REPORTS TO: Center Director
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Job Summary: Directs staff engaged in providing residential services for all students and ensures programs and standards meet all DOL, PRH, Center and corporate requirements.
Duties:
- Provides direct supervision of Recreation Manager, Residential Living Supervisors, and Secretary. Approves shift assignments, directs tasks, monitors and evaluates performance of assigned staff.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate direct reports staff and makes recommendations regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, and/or merit increases.
- Informs staff of the medical needs of injured or sick students on Center, ensures directives and health orders for non-health personnel are followed and authorizes the dispensing of medication after consultation with the Center physician.
- Initiates strategies to continuously improve the climate of the center to improve student satisfaction, reduce negative separations, and promote retention.
- Provides overall supervision of the Recreation function. Prepares, communicates, and administers diverse recreation component, including leisure-time learning and employment programs.
- Briefs the oncoming shift supervisor(s) before departure. This includes medical condition of students injured or sick, incidents, safety and security.
- Conducts staff training for Residential and Recreation Staff to promote improvements in programs and student achievement.
- Monitors and communicates OMS outcomes by dorm to promote continuous improvement.
- Ensures appropriate support for the centers Healthy Eating and Active Lifestyles Committee.
- Ensures that residential staff assists students in development long- and short-terms goals and document same on the students’ PCDP. Monitors progress through effective and timely ESPs.
- Complies with all DOL guidelines, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
- Maintains accountability of students and ensures morning accountability check is forwarded to student records department in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conducts and documents quality assurance audits and self-evaluations to ensure program quality and integrity.
- Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
- Conducts and documents regular staff meetings with assigned staff.
- Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success skills.
- Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement of independent living skills.
- Participates in PRH mandated staff training. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.

Requirements
Qualifications and Experience: Postsecondary degree and 2 years’ experience working with youth required. One year of supervisory experience required. Driver’s License required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field preferred.
