Job summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate processing of US/International payroll, supported by internal processes and procedures including the timekeeping system. This role includes providing support for reporting, compliance and regulatory functions associated with payroll processing.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Must have Ceridian Dayforce expereince* Compensation is determined by education and experience with a range of $63,000 - $70,000 • Processes bi-weekly US payroll (to include: new hires, terminations, changes in salary, benefits, tax withholdings, deductions, etc.) via Ceridian Dayforce HCM Platform. • Handles processing of organization’s monthly International payroll • Process, calculate, confirm special payroll items such as bonus payments, new hire referral payments, personal auto payments, garnishments, tuition reimbursements, etc. • Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, remuneration and conditions of service. • Compiles and maintains time and attendance data utilizing Ceridian Dayforce HCM Platform. • Applies for SIT, SUI, Local and City tax ID’s • Ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and federal, state and IRS regulations. • Researches and interprets federal and state and resolves tax, withholding, garnishment and wage/hour issues for payroll processing. • Responds to auditing and regulatory inquiries. • Maintains organized and secured payroll records. • Processes accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.). • Responds to verification of employment requests. • Provides support to the Finance Department during company financial audits. • Reviews and processes payroll adjustments in line with company standards. • Fields and responds to payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies as required. • Assists in the development of new procedures. • Coordinate with global vendor regarding international payroll, totalization agreements, expatriate payments and world-wide income calculations. • Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions. • Provides reporting support to Finance for biweekly, monthly, and annual accrual projections. • Develops ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed. • Maintains personnel records in SAP
Your profile
• Associate’s degree in human resources, accounting or finance, or 3 years equivalent payroll experience • Must have at least 3 years of experience in payroll function, preferably in a manufacturing company • Strong computer literacy including MS office, Excel skills, and payroll processing systems (eg. Paycor, ADP, Ceridian, SAP) • Can-do positive attitude, strong analytical and investigative skills, high attention to detail and accuracy • Focused and driven to not only analyze problems, but collaborate to identify and deliver solutions • Ability to work in the detail, but also see the big picture • Team player with ability to effectively communicate with those from the shop floor through senior leadership, conveying accounting data in a clear, concise and understandable way. Preferred Education and Experience: • CPP or equivalent highly preferred • Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven businesses • Experience working in a global, international organization (German preferred)
