Description :

MCC is currently seeking a JOURNEYMAN MILLWRIGHT . Individuals will install and maintain machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawing specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Reads and interpret blueprints, schematic, and detailed repair drawings related to construction equipment and machinery; determining work procedures
Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools
Constructs foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials; such as wood, cement, and steel
Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs
Grind and file machinery parts both on-site and in controlled circumstances
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment
Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential duties
Work with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential duties
Drive a vehicle to various job sites throughout working hours and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company policy
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements :

ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches / excavations

Work at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, and tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single-story and multi-story buildings

Standing work (frequently) on a level, uneven, indoor, outdoor, elevated, confined spaces surface various tools and equipment to dismantle machinery and equipment using various hand and power tools

Must be able to lift and carry up to 75lbs

Workers must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction) and coordinate the movements of their eyes, arms, hands, and fingers fully

Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities

Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner

This position is subject to ergonomic testing

SAFETY SENSITIVE

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes part of the job duties of operating a motor vehicle, operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, and working with and around hazardous materials, at

heights, and in confined spaces. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long

periods of time while operating a motor vehicle, operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

Work within precise standards of accuracy

Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked

Should be able to look at flat drawings or pictures and understand how they would look as solid objects

All employees must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for this position

Ability to communicate clearly with employees and customers

Good organizational and time-management skills

Ability to complete daily tasks with limited supervision and minimal errors requiring re-work

Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule : nights, weekends, and holidays as / if required

A current valid driver’s license is required
