Position Summary
The Director of Patient Access Services is responsible for the development, implementation and overall operations of Patient Access Services for an assigned region to ensure programs align with strategic initiatives which include creating the ideal patient experience, data quality and optimal revenue recovery. The director oversees delivery of services through a collaborative access team that provides user-friendly services to patients, payers, physicians and other health care professionals to facilitate seamless patient access to the MultiCare system; avoids bad debt related to unauthorized hospitalizations or procedures, un-sponsored care or incorrect patient payer or demographic data; enhances customer satisfaction with access services; works with executive leadership, clinical directors and physicians to identify and resolve capacity issues that create barriers to region wide patient flow; assures hospital compliance with Advanced Beneficiary Notification (ABN), Medicare as a Secondary Payer (MSP), Advanced Directives, Patient Bill of Rights, medical necessity, observation status and other regulatory guidelines. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or Clinical Administration preferred
- Eight (8) years of acute care hospital or health system access services experience and mastery of the Access Services function
- Five (5) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $102,567.00 - $147,607.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.Associated benefit information can be viewed here.
