The technician works with other health professionals to provide comprehensive care to oncology and non-oncology infusion patients. Responsibilities may include coordination of equipment and supplies. This is a staff level position working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The technician will have additional knowledge and skill in the ability to follow mixing formulations and the use of specialized compounding equipment, mixing techniques, and hazardous chemicals. Knowledgeable in the rules and regulations specific to the practice of sterile extemporaneous compounding is required. Work situations are a variety of routine duties and functions that require organization and attention to detail. Internal contacts basically consist of nursing staff and management. External contacts include physicians, physician office staff, and patients.Minimum Requirements:Experience in IV sterile compounding, both hazardous and non-hazardousHospital experience preferredSuccessful Completion of National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program preferred Education/Licenses/Certifications:Current Washington State Board of Pharmacy Technician LicensePossession of current CPR Certification Shift: Day Shifts Employment Type: Full-Time Regular
