Overview
Multi-Care Home Health is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Home Health Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Home Health medical coding practices and terminology. The Coding Specialist will work closely with Clinical Mgrs, Clinicians and Intake Team to ensure compliance with coding requirements, while compliant with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure correct information for coding purposes.
- Assign appropriate codes to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Ensure compliance with all coding guidelines and regulations while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to clarify documentation issues and resolve discrepancies in coding.
- Stay updated on changes in coding standards, regulations, and medical terminology to maintain accuracy in coding practices.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity of coded data.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical coding within a Home Health setting.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems and electronic health record (EHR) software is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology as it relates to coding practices.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is highly desirable but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
