Responsibilities
1. Planning and implementing programs:
- Develops, plans, and evaluates programs that address mental health, substance use, and other issues
- Coordinates the implementation and evaluation of prevention project strategies as laid out by the approved grant proposals.
2. Collaborating with others:
- Work with partner organizations and stakeholders to develop programs, provide training, and build relationships.
- Adheres to the principles of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration's (SAMHSA) Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and Department of Public Health's Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) standards throughout grant implementation while working with others.
- Participates in regional coalitions and workgroups.
3. Providing technical assistance:
- Provide technical assistance and consultation to schools, organizations, and business groups.
4. Managing budgets:
- Manages project budget and reviews funding proposals
- Manages the monitoring process for grant-funded projects administered by the Grants Administrator. Ensures that site visits, annual monitoring visits, reporting requirements, and all other monitoring regulatory requirements are met.
5. Providing outreach:
- Provide outreach and contribute to communication strategies to community
6. Supporting staff
- Provide support to staff, including training and development
7. Maintaining contact:
- Maintain contact with federal, state, and local agencies and organizations
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree in public health, social work, or related field, or related experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in community and/or substance use prevention is preferred.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with flexibility and independence and with internal/external teams.
- Proven track record of ability to connect and work with community partners.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to compile data, support preparation of comprehensive grant reports, and support other entities in preparing.
- Experience in social media and event promotions.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of regional resources for substance use prevention and mental health access.
Preferred Qualifications
- OCPC or LSW with Prevention Experience
Salary : $27,000 - $30,000
