What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Manager position at Multipack South?
Maintenance Manager
Oversees the maintenance department and maintenance staff. Will facilitate maintenance projects that focus on line improvements and new product implementation. Coordinates with the Operations Manager and their direct team to create production scheduling based on project constraints and operational timelines. Will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Will manage all engineering and maintenance staff to function as a collective, and to move towards the goal of sustainable, and efficient production where downtime of equipment is limited.
Creates a team that will generate solutions to equipment malfunctions and process issues.
Facilitate the creation and preservation of a SOP documentation system for facility maintenance and equipment operations.
Develops projects for line improvements and facilitates the implementation by the maintenance team.
Verifies that the maintenance team is properly recording all routine maintenance in CMMS software.
Has an overview of all equipment malfunctions and ensures that their respected action procedures are followed.
Uses shift reports to develop and designate projects for both the maintenance and engineering teams.
Schedules meetings with maintenance team to discuss project workflows and go over weekly reports.
Able to create and keeps up to date records of KPI’s for the maintenance team.
Keeps a detailed log of all OEM contacts for facility equipment along with equipment technician contacts.
Oversees the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Has the ability to take technical phone calls outside of normal working hours.
Creates project budgets and creates cost analysis for each project.
Ensures all projects are delivered on time and within the stipulated scope of budget.
Is responsible for the onboarding of new maintenance employees.
Understands the process for employee termination when problematic behavior, inadequate performance, or company restrictions arise.
Determines staffing needs to ensure all teams are properly staffed.
Ability to schedule and manage packaging line changeovers.
Oversees purchasing of non-inventoried items that directly relate to the maintenance department.
Other Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Food Safety Responsibilities
Complete food safety training and implement when needed.
Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards.
Ensure all maintenance staff abide by the food safety requirements outlined by the company.
Must be a part of the following teams and participate in all trainings and updates:
HACCP Team, Food Defense Team and Crisis Management Team.
Report any food safety problems to the SQF Practitioner or Senior Manager in a timely manner so that corrective actions may be performed

Experience:
Managing large technical teams in a manufacturing setting. Technical management experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Computer Skills:
Required- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, online component searching, CMMS software, and MS Projects.
Language Skills:
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with the executive level to field service personnel/contactors on both a technical and cross-functional basis.
