- Strategic Leadership:
- In partnership with our member-led communications committee, craft and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that drastically modernizes our ability to serve MAC operations.
- Inspire and lead the communications team to deliver the future voice of MAC, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Partner with the General Manager and our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to synchronize communication efforts with organizational priorities and member needs.
- Represent MAC at public events, media engagements, and other external activities.
- Serve as the primary communications advisor to MAC’s member-led committees and Executive Leadership team.
- Manage the communications department budget and resources to maximize the investment.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Oversee the production of high-quality, engaging content across all platforms—print, digital, and social media.
- Maintain consistency in messaging and brand identity to strengthen our presence.
- Develop and manage a multi-channel content calendar, ensuring timely and effective delivery of communications.
- Leverage the volunteer power of our highly engaged community to exponentially amplify our team’s reach and capabilities.
- Develop and implement targeted campaigns to support key initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution and alignment with our overall strategy.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on effective communication practices and tools.
- Develop and manage crisis communication plans to ensure MAC can respond effectively to emergencies and high-stakes situations.
- Oversee the content and design of our publications, including The Winged M Magazine.
- Digital Evolution:
- Design, resource, and implement the evolution of MAC’s communications channels with an emphasis on drastically improving our digital capabilities.
- Oversee our online presence, including our website, social media channels, and email marketing.
- Monitor and report on communications metrics, continually seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Drastically improve our reach on social channels and the usability of MAC.com.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in communications, with 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in developing and executing communications strategies, preferably in a small to medium sized company or non-profit organization.
- Strong proficiency in digital communications and social media management.
- Experience and/or passion in health, fitness or athletics is a plus.
- Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency in content creation, digital marketing, and data analytics.
- Collaborative team player able to work with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to perform critical communications functions directly when necessary.
