The RoleAs a Pickleball Personal Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in helping athletes reach their personal goals on the court. You will design and tailor exercise programs to match each athlete's skill level, goals, and any unique considerations like musculoskeletal injuries or medical conditions. Your expertise will ensure that athletes not only improve their skills but also enjoy a safe, motivating, and enjoyable training environment. You'll work closely with the Court Sports Manager to provide world-class coaching and ensure each athlete’s progress.This is a part-time, fully on-site position in our club in Portland, OR. What You'll Do
Design and Deliver Training Programs: Create and execute customized, safe, and effective exercise programs for athletes, enhancing their skills and gameplay.
Track and Bill Sessions: Manage the timely submission of personal training billing and monitor client progress.
Skill Development: Continuously assess and develop athlete skills, offering constructive feedback and strategies for improvement.
Collaboration: Partner with the Court Sports Manager to teach and refine game strategies and skills. Ensure members receive top-tier coaching.
Member Engagement: Respond professionally to member feedback, questions, and concerns. Maintain positive relationships and enhance their overall experience.
Safety First: Follow and enforce all safety protocols, including reporting unsafe conditions and ensuring a secure environment for all athletes.
Stay Current: Continuously develop your own skills and knowledge of competitive pickleball, keeping up with techniques, rules, and best practices.
Attend Meetings: Participate in program-related meetings to stay aligned with team goals and updates.
What You'll Bring
Experience: Minimum of 4 years playing pickleball, with a preference for coaching experience in school, club, collegiate, or adult leagues.
Coaching Expertise: Strong background in coaching, including the ability to develop tailored training plans that accommodate different skills, abilities, and goals.
Customer Service Excellence: Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate members, both in person and digitally.
Certifications: Current CPR AED/First Aid and SafeSport certifications are required or must be obtained within three months of employment.
Physical Stamina: Able to bend, twist, lift up to 20 pounds, and stay active on the gym floor during training sessions.
Computer Proficiency: Comfort with using Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications to communicate and manage client information.
Flexibility: Willingness to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate training schedules.
Positive Attitude: A collaborative, proactive approach to both member service and team dynamics. Passion for promoting the mission and values of the club.
