ABOUT THE ON DEMAND FACILITIES ASSOCIATE POSITION
The On Demand Facilities Associate plays a key role in supporting the daily operations and ensuring the smooth and safe functioning of Mulva Cultural Center during peak times. As an on-demand position, the role requires flexibility, with the associate being called upon as needed for specific tasks, events, or projects. This position is responsible for assisting with exhibition changes, event setup and breakdown, general facility maintenance, and contributing to special facility-related projects. The on-demand nature of the role means hours will vary depending on the Center’s schedule, including early mornings, weekends, evenings, and special events, requiring availability to meet the operational needs of the facility.
RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
· Support with setup and breakdown of exhibitions, ensuring seamless transitions and timely completion.
· Assist in the setup and breakdown of events and activities to ensure smooth operations and professional execution, including setting up props, tables, and chairs.
· Contribute to various-sized facilities project work, ensuring tasks are completed with quality and efficiency.
· Help unload and move materials to and from trucks as needed.
· Assist with snow removal operations using hand tools and powered equipment.
· Maintain departmental standards to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors.
· Report any property damage, hazards, or deficiencies observed within assigned areas.
· Perform miscellaneous errands and provide on-demand support as required.
· Assist with various tasks and projects to enhance the overall success of Mulva Cultural Center.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and abilities:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
· 1 years of experience in snow removal for commercial or facility buildings is a plus.
· Certifications in lift operations, fall protection, or other relevant areas are a plus.
· Proficiency in operating hand and power tools and equipment preferred.
· Willingness to provide a personal contact number for after-hours text/phone communication and dispatch.
· The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a keen sense of urgency and attention to detail.
· Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
· Strong commitment to safety in all activities, with the ability to act quickly and effectively during emergencies.
· Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
· Culturally competent and committed to working with diverse teams, with a strong alignment to the organization’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Ability to lift, move, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Willingness to engage in frequent physical tasks, including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching throughout shifts.
· Exposure to outdoor elements and variable temperatures, including extreme conditions.
