Job Description:


  • Conduct inspections and service on various models of overhead cranes/lifting devices
  • Conduct extensive on site electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Perform on site repairs on overhead traveling cranes in conjunction with planned repairs
  • Responsible for a basic understanding and working knowledge or all OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and other codes or regulations pertaining to our industry.
  • Travel by vehicle to job site to install, remove and inspect cranes, hoists to ensure they are running smoothly
  • Read and understand drawings and blueprints
  • Work at heights on large steel structures
  • Operate Forklifts, elevated work platforms, and other heavy equipment
  • Maneuver and position large pieces of steel together
  • Be available "on call" as part of service. Provide afterhours service, as required
  • Maintain regular communication with the service office
  • Work together with service manager/general manager to ensure paperwork and quotes are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
  • Maintain company vehicle and uniforms in a clean and presentable manner
  • Accountable for all the company issued tools, ladders, and inventory levels assigned to you

 

Education and Experience:


  • Associate degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology, or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience is preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working on and/or installing overhead cranes, preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing


Working Conditions:

 

Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. although not on a daily basis. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. on a rare basis. This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching. This position requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. This position will be inside approximately 90% of the time and outside approximately 10% of the time. This position will be frequently exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights.


Maintenance Mechanics/Millwrights with strong electrical and mechanic skills or Technicians from an industrial environment are highly encouraged to apply.
