Summary
The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food orders, preparation of condiments, and maintaining a clean operational kitchen environment. Assist with food inventory and menu planning.
Qualifications - Education, Experience and Training
Minimum 18 years old. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Basic knowledge of food preparation, show attention to detail, and demonstrate strong communication skills. Previous experience as a cook is preferred. CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification is required and if not certified, must become certified . Must obtain Illinois Food Handler Certificate within 2 weeks of hire date.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Maintain safe and sanitary food-handling practices in compliance with all requirements of the Lake County Health Department.
- Prepare all items listed on the menu per kitchen guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and controlling inventory.
- Inspect the kitchen, and grillroom regularly to ensure safe, sanitary, and attractive conditions and practices are in place.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
