About the Role:
As our Fleet Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our fleet. Your responsibilities will include:
- Fleet Scheduling & Administration: Efficiently manage fleet maintenance schedules, assist with troubleshooting, and keep operations personnel informed about vehicle availability.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, plan, and direct the work of all shop personnel, ensuring high standards of performance and safety.
- Maintenance Oversight: Direct and participate in unscheduled repairs and oversee the preventative maintenance program to keep our equipment in peak condition.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate fleet inventory and condition reports, manage parts inventory, and use our inventory software effectively.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations, and keep up-to-date with safety and compliance standards.
- Purchasing: Assist in the procurement of new vehicles, equipment, and tools within budgetary constraints.
- Leadership/Action team: Actively engage and participate in the growth, setting of priorities and the goals of Municipal Pipe Tool.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience and 2-4 years in fleet and/or fixed asset management.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in diagnostics including power train, electrical, hydraulics, and experience with reefers is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20 to 70 lbs and hold a valid Class C driver license. Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.
- Personal Attributes: Motivated self-starter, quick learner with initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
