Electrical Controls Technician
Job Summary
We are looking for an Electrical Controls Technician with 2 years of experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will have electrical skills understanding the basics of and safety related to low & medium voltage, grounding vs neutral, single phase and three phase circuits. Also some mechanical skills dealing with pumps, hydraulics, check valves, fluid mechanics. Controls experience with programming & installing VFDs, PLCs, contactors, starters, relays and pressure transducers is preferred. Ability to reading electrical schematics is required.
Responsibilities include providing technical expertise, onsite service, troubleshooting & installation to clients throughout the Midwest. Will need ability to work on your own at job sites. There is some overnight travel involved - maybe a day or two average per week out of town.
Past experience in the Golf Course Irrigation and Municipal Water Controls industries are a plus.
Qualifications and Skills
Expectations & Skills Required of Prospective Employee:
- 2 years minimum experience with Electrical and Mechanical controls.
- Licensed Electrician is not required.
- Good physical condition - able to be on your feet the majority of the day.
- Lifting - able to lift 80 to 100 lbs as needed.
- Capable of regular bending, stooping, walking and pulling without physical pain.
- Driving Record - needs to be fairly clean. No DUI's.
- Fluently speak, write and understand English
- Graduated from High School
- Pass a drug and alcohol screening, medical exam & a physical strength and endurance test.
- Stay away from home as needed (averaging approximately 20% to 30% of the time Monday - Friday). There is some flexibility on scheduling.
Compensation
- Starting pay $28.50 - $32.50 per hour depending on level of experience.
- Expected earnings in the first year will be $72,000 to $90,000, again depending on experience.
- You will work overtime, approximately 8 to 10 hours per week.
