Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Property Inspector to join our team. The Property Inspector will be responsible for evaluating residential and commercial properties to ensure they meet safety, structural, and regulatory standards. This role involves conducting on-site inspections, preparing detailed reports, and recommending necessary improvements or repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Property Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of residential and commercial properties.
- Assess structural integrity, safety features, and overall condition.
- Identify and document any damages, defects, or maintenance issues.
- Take photos for the property
- Compliance:
- Ensure properties comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
- Stay updated with property inspection regulations and industry best practices.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with clear findings and recommendations.
- Take photographs and document property conditions for records.
- Provide clear communication of findings to property owners, managers, or clients.
- Client Interaction:
- Liaise with property owners, tenants, or contractors during inspections.
- Address client concerns and answer questions about inspection findings.
- Follow-Up:
- Monitor and verify completion of recommended repairs or maintenance.
- Re-inspect properties as needed to ensure compliance and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of property inspection processes, tools, and techniques.
- Familiarity with local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed and accurate inspection reports.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a property inspector or in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with property management, real estate, or construction is a plus.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site inspections.
- Physical ability to climb, crouch, and inspect hard-to-reach areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in property inspection, building inspection, or a related field.
- Experience with property inspection software or tools.
- Knowledge of environmental testing (e.g., mold, lead, asbestos) is an advantage.
