The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle Operations Bureau Chief. This position is responsible for managing the delivery of Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO) Bureau services to the commercial motor carrier industry. Oversees the collection and management of the tax and fee revenue that represents one third of MDT’s total state revenue package. Participates in the research, development and implementation of MCS and MDT work projects. Participates in the legislative process by proposing legislation, providing testimony at legislative hearings, and is responsible for researching and assessing potential effects of legislation on motor carriers. Reports to the Motor Carrier Services Division Administrator and directly supervises 4 employees and 17 employees indirectly.
