SUMMARY: The Lean manager will coordinate and facilitate the implementation of process improvements efforts within our Amesbury MA Facility. The Lean Manager will lead manufacturing engineers and technicians as well as work with local management and support staff to develop a culture that drives improvement. This focus will be directed primarily at improving the environment for the team members allowing them to produce products of higher quality with improved efficiency and enhanced safety. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work process/ work flow improvements, just-in-time principles, cellular/ production processes, visual management and Poka-Yoke methods. Implement lean manufacturing processes and develop systems that sustain ongoing improvements. Develop and implement lean training programs and facilitate organizational learning. Provide expert advice regarding team dynamics, change management, process re-design strategies, performance improvement tool sets and technical expertise such as flow and data analysis. On occasion, work hands on in the production environment with the local team to implement, monitor and improve production. The MPS manager may also be required to teach team members in a classroom style setting. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering 5 years previous experience in Operations Experience or significant exposure to lean/ six sigma methodologies Strong analytical skills Results based leadership style Solid interpersonal communication skills Strong computer skills Ability to travel 5% of the time. PREFERRED: 2-3 years experience in a supervisory role Experience with facilitation Experience in coaching and training Lean/ Six Sigma black or green belt certification We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
