Overview: Murdock High School is seeking a proactive and organized individual to fill the position of Virtual High School Course Monitor. This full time role is perfect for someone who is tech-savvy and passionate about helping students succeed in an online learning environment. The Course Monitor will assist with the daily management of virtual courses, providing support to students, monitoring progress, and ensuring a smooth online learning experience.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED; some college coursework or prior experience in education or technology is preferred.
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Canvas, Moodle, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage students in a remote setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to students.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and comfort with technology.
- Previous experience working in an online learning environment is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor student participation and engagement in virtual classes and course activities.
- Assist students with navigating the virtual learning platform and accessing course materials.
- Provide timely feedback to students regarding assignment submissions and progress.
- Communicate with students and parents about upcoming deadlines, assignments, and any important course updates.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to the virtual classroom platform and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain a positive and supportive virtual classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers to track student performance and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
- Ensure all course content is up to date and accessible to students.
- Enforce school policies regarding integrity and online behavior.
