JOB TITLE: HEAD EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN - GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE - RIVER LANDING
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Golf Course Maintenance and/or the Golf Course Superintendent, the Head Mechanic Technician assists and/or works independently of the Director and/or Superintendent in the repairing and maintenance of various gasoline- and diesel-powered golf course maintenance equipment. The assistant equipment manager also assists in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building, contributes to a preventative maintenance program, and places safety procedures as a top priority.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Director and/or Superintendent
- Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis
- Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work
- Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed
- Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment
- Maintains preventive maintenance on all equipment
- Looks up parts and orders them
- Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline-, diesel- and electric-powered equipment; the proper methods of servicing golf course equipment; and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain a clean and well-organized parts inventory room
- Adherence to the proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids (antifreeze, oil filters, etc.)
- Perform daily inspections of golf course maintenance equipment
ADA REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis and move heavy objects
Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
Ability to work in all weather conditions while repairing equipment
REQUIRMENTS:
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to use common mechanical tools
Must have good communication skills and a good working relationship with other employees and the public
Must wear work boots, company uniforms and present yourself in a clean and polite manner
Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
Must have valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
Must comply with company policies and procedures
Computer knowledge needed to look up parts and order
