Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Production Manager – RoadForce Manufacturing. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of manufacturing operations to include all direct and indirect labor departments. Plans, directs, and controls the activities within the production departments to meet production schedules and product quality requirements. Evaluates operating results against pre-determined objectives on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensures that operational areas are adequately staffed to meet forecasted demand and to achieve overall quality, profit, and growth objectives.
- Promotes safe work behaviors and habits, ensures safety rules are followed. Takes an active role with the plant safety committee to improve safe working conditions and practices in all aspects of shop floor operations, to include ergonomic improvements.
- Establishes short and long-term production objectives for assigned departments, within the company’s overall plans and policies.
- Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout the branch.
- Communicates the production schedules and customer requirements to foremen and their respective departments.
- Evaluates performance of department staff and reviews and appraises their performance.
- Maintains appropriate communications within and between various departments and functional areas within assigned branches; holds individual conferences as required.
- Ensures branch complies with local, state, and federal governmental regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Requires three years of previous management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of manufacturing and fabrication operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to include, 5s principles, Kaizen, Gemba walks, and Poka-Yoke tools to improve production efficiencies.
- Must have excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Requires strong leadership skills and decision-making abilities.
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must have a strong work ethic and commitment to extra hours when needed.
