Job Summary
The Team Lead, Operations Engineering will lead and manage the engineering functions supporting offshore oil and gas production facilities across all of Murphy’s offshore facilities including two SPARs, two Semi-sub FPUs, an FPSO, etc. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all production processes, facilities, and equipment operate efficiently, meet production targets, and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership abilities, demonstrating the capability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams. They should exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, enabling effective interaction with various stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate must be adaptable, able to work under pressure, and adjust to the dynamic challenges of offshore operations.
The Team Lead, Operations Engineering, will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remotely.

Responsibilities
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with industry safety standards and environmental regulations. Lead emergency response teams and conduct regular risk assessments.
- Engineering Management: Oversee the planning and execution of engineering and construction activities for offshore production facilities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Budget Control: Develop and manage budgets related to engineering projects and construction management, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
- Production Optimization: Monitor and analyze data to identify facility/process opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement solutions to enhance production output.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal departments (Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Development Projects, etc.), external contractors and third-party producers, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless operations and compliance with all relevant standards.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including maintenance records, standard operating procedures, and compliance reports.
HUET/BOSIET, TWIC or the ability to obtain one within the first 90 days
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or related field Minimum 15 years’ experience in managing a multidisciplinary team in offshore operations or related area
- In-depth knowledge of deepwater offshore production facilities, operating strategies, and industry-specific software tools
- Willingness to travel to various offshore assets as required
