We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-driven Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector to join a growing construction team working on a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong background in structural steel fabrication and erection, able to read complex blueprints, work safely under pressure, and deliver precision craftsmanship from the shop floor to the job site.
This role plays a critical part in constructing steel infrastructure such as beams, columns, platforms, RTU frames, and other custom assemblies for new builds, retrofits, and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Steel Fabrication – Fabricate beams, columns, platforms, and other structural components from shop drawings using saws, drills, shears, and presses.
- Welding & Torch Work – Perform structural and tack welding; cutting and grinding to spec using a variety of methods.
- Field Erection – Assist in the safe rigging, hoisting, and installation of fabricated steel on-site, ensuring accurate alignment and connection of parts.
- Blueprint Interpretation – Read and interpret detailed shop drawings and field layout specs with precision and minimal supervision.
- Quality Control – Conduct final inspections of fabricated pieces and verify that all dimensions, welds, and assemblies meet quality standards.
- Safety Leadership – Follow and promote OSHA-compliant safety practices during fabrication and installation, especially when working at heights or with heavy equipment.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and field erection
- Strong knowledge of miscellaneous metals: stairs, handrails, ladders, grating, platforms, etc.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting fabrication and field erection details
- Skilled in MIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding
- Competent with tools such as torches, grinders, saws, drills, levels, squares, and more
- Experience working on ladders, lifts, and around rigging equipment
- Excellent communication and situational awareness on active job sites
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Own basic hand tools required

Physical Demands:

- Use of cranes, lifts, ladders, and powered hand tools in a safety-regulated environment
Position Type:

- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Occasional overtime based on project demands)
