Murphy Wall Products Material Handler/Counter Sales
Scope of work: To provide prompt, courteous and safe loading of products for our customers while maintaining excellent quality control. Help management oversee all store functions and employees to ensure excellent customer service, suggestive selling and product knowledge to all customers as spelled out with the Company Mission Statement and Core Values. Communicate all expectations to Fort Worth Office.
Job Duties AS A Material Handler
- Complete Internal Combustion Daily Checklist on forklifts and turn it in to supervisor when completed.
- Report for all scheduled shifts and clock in and out on time.
- Pull all materials purchased by customers and load them into customer vehicles safely, carefully and efficiently as requested.
- Confirm all customer orders for 100% accuracy.
- Follow quality checkpoint and inventory control procedures as directed.
- Follow all safety procedures as instructed.
- Keep warehouse and front lot clean and organized during and at the end of shift.
- Make sure warehouse inventory items are maintained organized and clean.
- Complete hourly inventory: inform manager of any items running low.
- Keep all products rotated.
- Only load materials when provided with the appropriate paperwork.
- Assists other loaders when needed.
- Storing and organizing goods and raw materials properly in our warehouse, assist with ordering and counting merchandise when needed.
- Notify manager if competitor products are seen inside customer vehicles.
- Open and close store on time for all scheduled shifts.
- Greeting customers in person and answering the phone and asking them about their product needs: answer questions and make recommendations to meet their needs from the store?s equipment and merchandise.
- Addresses any customer complaints or concerns promptly and addresses these with all store employees to improve customer service.
- Train all employees to suggestive sell products that will benefit customers based on their individual construction or project needs.
Job Duties When Working The Counter
- Help management oversee loaders and assists with other employees when needed
- Ensure forklift checklist is kept current and that forklift is maintained.
- Complete all daily invoicing and financials following Murco procedures including counting drawers daily.
- Use computer to ring in customer items and process cash, check and credit card payments accurately.
- Maintain all registers logged in with their daily information sent to Ft Worth in a timely manner.
- Storing and organizing goods and raw materials properly in our warehouse, assist with ordering and counting merchandise when needed.
- Accountable for completing monthly & quarterly inventory count and for shrink result
- Work with store employees to make sure all merchandise is stocked in displays and stack outs are completed per schedule.
- Schedule store orders and deliveries.
- Notify Director of Sales if customers stop buying or if competitor products are seen
- Review the Salesman Call Report daily to find potential customers.
- Monitors the aging report and helps call customers for collections.
- Make sure all items on sales floor are stocked to 100% full.
- Accountable for P&L profit through sales growth and managing controllable expenses.
- Maintaining work areas and equipment, keep the show room, floors and counter areas clean with full displays at all times.
Requirements:
- High School Education: Diploma or GED is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and preferably a background in warehouse or forklift experience.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs, stock merchandise and operate a cash register.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Some local travel will be required.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday 7:00 am to 12:00 pm
Pay: DOE
