Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
- Handle the preparation of month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by tracking and analyzing financial performance.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
- Help maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for payroll processing and related accounting functions as needed.
- Work with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to streamlining accounting workflows.
- Assist with Company and medical insurance and workers compensation.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or small business environment
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or NetSuite and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of manufacturing accounting practices and cost accounting is a plus
