Lead university-wide retention initiatives and student advocacy to support student success and institutional goals. Collaborate with Academic and Student Affairs. Responsibilities in advising, staff supervision, and budget management.
- Lead the development and implementation of a strategic retention plan for the university.
- Manage student emergency aid distribution with VPSAEM .
- Serve on the Student Intervention Team.
- Manage Employee of the Month selection project for Student Affairs.
- Manage the production and distribution of the parent/family newsletter.
- Manage parent referrals.
- Provide leadership, support and professional development to CSES team.
- Meet individually with students to assess their needs, and refer them to applicable MSU services
- Mentor and meet with academically at-risk students regarding academic and related high school-to-college transitional issues
- Advocate for students to ensure they receive the benefits of the support services that are offered
- Lead implementation of new initiatives related to student success and retention.
- Lead the implementation, usage, and assessment of the current retention system (Starfish Student Success Network)
- Lead and coordinate academic advising training and communication for the University to further student retention and academic success.
- Ex-Officio member of the Academic Council
- Coordinate initiatives related to low-income and first-generation students.
- Assist with the collection and evaluation of retention data, analyzing current data, predicting trends, application of data to retention initiatives, and sharing data with necessary campus constituents
- Management of budgets for Student Engagement and Success; retention scholarships; and emergency aid
- Manage the First-Year Experience Resource Course in Canvas
- Lead all efforts related to Family Weekend each fall to include advertising, implementation, managing the “weekend-of” events, managing staff and students working on the event, assessment, usage of funds
- Lead all efforts related to the Recapture Campaign to encourage students to register for the next term. Includes preparing reports, sharing information, and creating a communication toolkit.
- Serve on committees for both Student Affairs and Academic Affairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
