Position Summary
Operate a punch press efficiently to produce quality parts that meet or exceed customer specifications for quality, cost, and delivery using the most economical methods.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operation:
- Operate punch press machinery in accordance with work instructions and safety standards.
- Accurately enter production data into the PLEX system as directed.
Quality & Inspection:
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
Efficiency & Maintenance:
- Achieve part-specific run efficiency goals while maintaining quality and minimizing scrap.
- Assist with basic maintenance of tooling and press equipment.
- Continuously work toward improving setup and run times.
Workplace Standards:
- Follow all safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
- Keep the work area clean and organized in line with 5S principles.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10th-grade education required, High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience operating a punch press or multislide equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Must be able to move freely within the office and work area.
- Requires independence, sound judgment, and discretion in performing job duties.
- Great hand and eye coordination.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles in a manufacturing setting.
- Role may require standing, bending, lifting, mobility across the production floor and working with hands for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Responsibilities may change based on operational needs.
Schedule:
- On-Site
- Monday to Friday (Potential for overtime or Saturdays) 6AM-4:30PM
- Sunday to Wednesday (Potential for overtime) 8AM-6AM
