About the Role :

As an Immigration / Deportation Defense Attorney at Musa-Obregon Law PC, you will :

  • Represent clients in deportation and removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to immigration law, including asylum, withholding of removal, cancellation of removal, and other forms of relief.
  • Prepare and file legal briefs, motions, and other documents with the immigration courts and agencies.
  • Represent clients at hearings and trials, advocating zealously on their behalf.
  • Advise clients on all aspects of immigration law, providing clear and compassionate guidance.
  • Manage a caseload effectively and efficiently, meeting deadlines and maintaining excellent communication with clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to provide comprehensive legal representation.

Qualifications :

  • Juris Doctor or LLM (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar of the State of New York or any of the 50 states & PR.
  • Minimum of TWO years of experience in immigration law, specifically in deportation defense.
  • Deep understanding of immigration law, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and immigrant rights.
