Job Description Summary

The Advanced Fetal Care Center Coordinator reports to the Women’s Ambulatory Associate Director of Operations and the Medical Director of the Fetal Diagnostic Center. Under limited supervision, the Advanced Fetal Care Center Coordinator coordinates and supports the development of the Fetal Care Program. This role provides prenatal clinical consultations, education, care coordination, and counseling to women who are pregnant with a fetal anomaly. This position partners with the RNII to care for individual patients between multi- disciplinary teams to establish patient care plans, provide care coordination and assist with varied responsibilities; such as quality assurance, customer and patient relations, policy setting, training/education, research and community outreach.

Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday - Friday

Job Summary/Purpose: This position partners with the RNII to care for individual patients between multi-disciplinary teams to establish patient care plans, provide care coordination and assist with varied responsibilities, such as quality assurance, patient relations, policy setting, training/education, research and community outreach. A program coordinator oversees programs and activities within the department ensuring efficiency and smooth workflow. They must also coordinate with different departments to gather and analyze data, producing daily progress reports and documentation. Furthermore, as a clinical program coordinator, it is essential to lead and encourage the workforce to reach goals, all while implementing the company's policies and regulations.

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of five years’ work experience as a Registered Nurse in a Pediatric Critical Care, Cardiac and/or Surgery, or within the clinical specialty area. Experience in Performance Improvement (PI) programs and processes; ability to utilize data for program analysis; demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to collaboratively work with all disciplines. Excellent computer skills; Word, Excel, etc. Certification: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Proof of current training in AED for health care providers. Some positions require a valid driver's license. Certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA) strongly encouraged.

Preference: MSN preferred. Experience in care coordination, program development and clinical operations including team building and collaborative working skills essential.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider."

(Infrequent) Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (Frequent) Examples include: To transfer a 100 lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. (Continuous) Ability to work rotating shifts. (Frequent) Ability to work overtime as required. (Frequent) Ability to work in a latex safe environment.
