Job Description
The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator (RN) reports to the Trauma Program Manager. Under limited supervision, the Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator manages the process improvement program which monitors patients meeting the trauma patient criteria to ensure the requirements of the American College of Surgeons and SC DHEC designation for Level One Trauma Center s are met. The Trauma PI Coordinator identifies and investigates all variances in patient clinical care and system issues with respect to adherence to MUSC trauma protocols, guidelines, and algorithms.
Additional Job Description
Master of Business Administration, Master of Health Administration or Master of Nursing from an accredited college preferred Directly related trauma performance improvement experience preferred Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required Strong computer skills required in Excel, Power Point, and Word Strong written and verbal communication skills required Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college of Nursing and three years of work experience as a Registered Nurse in a Level One Trauma Center caring directly for trauma patients
