Description
Job Purpose
Follow direction from the Network Architect to implement, manage, and maintain computer and service provider networks, such as FTTH network, Municipal Area Network, fixed wireless network, and IPTV network. Perform service provider and enterprise class network modeling and analysis. Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot service provider network and enterprise server hardware and software systems as required. Provide support to System Administrators and business customers.
Specific Responsibilities
- Perform, or oversee System Administrators in the performance of, service provider network operations, maintenance, support, or upgrades as assigned by Network Architect.
Collaborate with others in the department in the design of service provider and enterprise networks.
Implement solutions for service provider and enterprise network environments.Monitor and analyze service provider network performance. Conduct regular service provider and enterprise network performance tests.Install and configure service provider and enterprise networking hardware.Implement, and support network security measures.Provide support and solutions for escalated issues.Assist in capital and large expense projects, including installation and support of hardware and software integration testing and implementation. Projects and responsibilities may include :Participate in service provider network technology upgrades and expansion projects.
Support the design, build, and operation of equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware and software as well as servers and server operation systems.Monitor assigned project schedules, budgets, or cost control systems.Evaluate, and verify documentation for implemented hardware, software, and deployed systems as needed, including network specifications, diagrams, charts, configurations, installation procedures, and troubleshooting procedures.Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements
Qualifications
Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, electronic engineering or related course of study and 3 years of operational experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Preferred experience would include proficiency in the support / implementation of routing protocols / technologies and topologies in a service provider environment such BGP, IGP's, IOS / XE / XR, MPLS VPN, Multicast, HSRP / VRRP, VRF, VPC, VC, LACPExperience with technologies, products, solutions, and vendors industry standard carrier grade hardware, such as : Cisco / Arista / Accedian Networks / Juniper / Adtran.Service provider level experience with configuration and monitoring tools, solutions, and strategies such as PRTG, DNA, Orchestrator, Ansible, Solarwinds, and Mosaic Subscriber Insight.Tested or certified in one or more of the following : CCNP, CCDP, CCIE - SP.Relational skills involving working with vendor management to drive incident resolution until completion.Advanced knowledge of technical / business environment and problem determination strategies.Experience documenting processes used by team members.Skills

Must be able to attend work on a regular basis, work overtime as needed, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.Must maintain a method of communication in order to be contacted by MPW outside normal working hours.Work Environment
