The Musco Legal Team is looking to hire a Corporate Counsel team member to work from our Oskaloosa office (will consider Des Moines office). This position will focus on being an active member of Muscos Legal Team focused on supporting Muscos general corporate and transactional business activities. This role is part of a fast-moving collaborative team which handles various legal matters related to items like contract administration, privacy, regulatory requirements and other general corporate legal matters. What you will do as Corporate Counsel:
- Review and provide legal advice and assistance related to legal documents and contracts, including but not limited to, sales agreements, distribution agreements, vendor agreements, warranty documents or similar.
- Draft standardized contracts and agreements for general use by others within the company.
- Oversee the contract management system and implement improvements to the contracting process.
- Conduct legal research relating to pending or potential litigation, corporate governance, and compliance with legal standards and existing law.
- Work efficiently with outside counsel.
- Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Accounting, Credit, Systems and Sales.
- Coordinate responses related to litigation, demand letters and other potential disputes against the company.
- Support the enhancement and maintenance of corporate policies, processes, and training programs especially with those relating to privacy or data-privacy.
- Provide legal support for the companys corporate matters, special projects or other initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirement:
- J.D. Degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in law in Iowa
- 4 years of experience in a Corporate Legal Department and/or corporate-focused practice
- Previous experience interpreting, reviewing and/or drafting contracts and deep knowledge of related legal principles and best practices
- Experience with privacy and/or data privacy requirements is a plus
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
