MUST BE A CURRENT MCSD TEACHER/COUNSELOR/MEDIA SPECIALIST.
To fully support our CSI/ATSI/TSI schools and those recently removed from this classification, the following conditions are in place for the 2025-2026 Transfer Process:
A district-wide transfer limit is placed for each of the following schools:
Brewer Early Innovation Academy, Davis, Forrest Road, Fox, Dorothy Height, Georgetown, Key, Martin Luther King, Jr., Baker, East Columbus, Eddy
2 core content teachers- 1 Elective/Special teacher
- 1 Special Education Teacher
- 1 Para
For example: Once the first transfer recommendation for a Special Education teacher at Dorothy Height is received, no other SpEd Teacher recommendation from Dorothy Height may be considered.
Submission of this application is not a guarantee of an interview or recommendation for a transfer. This process exists for you to make your interest in positions at other school or program locations known to principals.
- This process is not used for promotional positions or those that involve district selection processes. (Asst. Principal, Academic Coach, etc.) See the MCSD Job Posting for those opportunities.
- Employees transferring to another position within their current building, DO NOT have to submit a transfer application.
Eligibility Requirements for Transfer Process:
1.
Must be a CURRENT full-time, full contract year MCSD Teacher, Counselor, or Media Specialists.
2.
Teachers must have been hired or transferred to their current location prior to August 1, 2023 (2 full contract years) to be eligible. If you have questions about your contract status, please contact your region’s HR Partner. The only exception to this rule is for teachers, counselors or media specialists who were displaced due to school closures at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Must hold clear renewable certification (SRT, PRT, SRS, I5T, permit) in the field to which you want to transfer. Teachers working under a non-renewable “provisional” certificate, waivers, strategic waiver, and GaTAPP candidates are not eligible for a voluntary transfer.
4.
Must meet current overall job performance expectations with no ongoing Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
