REQUIREMENTS:

1. Educational Level:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred. Prior work experience in a technology-related field and certifications will be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.

2. Experience/Equivalency:

2 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Experience with installation, management, and systems administration of unified security systems is preferred.

3. Certificates/Licenses:

Certifications related to cybersecurity and/or IP-based security systems (e.g., Security , CCT, ) are preferred; Valid Driver’s License

5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE is required to utilize theoretical mathematical concepts; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:

understanding of video surveillance technologies, cybersecurity principles as they apply to IP-based systems, and basic networking concepts.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the

functions of the job include: familiarity with IP-based video cameras, basic functions and troubleshooting of IP-based data communications, installations and configuration of video surveillance systems, basic computer skills such as typing and word processing and working with spreadsheets, effective communication, and collaboration with other team members. The ability to use various scripting languages to accomplish tasks and experience working with APIs are a plus.

ABILITY is required to schedule activities; routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a

wide diversity of individuals; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

2.

Assesses current security cameras coverage and makes recommendations for additional cameras or system upgrades for the purpose of enhancing site security.

3.

Assists with the tuning of cybersecurity systems for the purpose of alerting and monitoring threats.

4.

Assists with the planning and implementation of cybersecurity controls, internal and external vulnerability scanning, and alert monitoring for the purpose of cybersecurity alerts.

5.

Assists with the planning and logistics of events that require security camera monitoring and alerts for the purpose of ensuring coverage and access are effectively managed.

6.

Collaborates with Senior Director of Enterprise Technology to create and implement a comprehensive strategy for the unified security system for the purpose of ensuring initiatives align with district safety goals.

7.

Communicates security camera procedures to staff and stakeholders for the purpose of understanding system use and video footage request processes.

8.

Coordinates with outside law-enforcement agencies as-needed for the purpose of accessing unified security services in times of emergencies.

9.

Designs and coordinates training sessions for staff on the operation of the security software for the purpose of enhancing operational efficiency.

10.

Develops and recommends new systems or procedures for the purpose of detecting, alerting, and responding to cybersecurity treats.

11.

Develops and maintains technical documentation regarding the configuration and troubleshooting of security systems for the purpose of facilitating ongoing support and system improvements.

12.

Develops, maintains and coordinates alerts, software updates, and communications for district video analytics software for the purpose of ensuring the proper functioning of alerts and alert communications to appropriate district staff.

13.

Ensures data privacy and security practices are maintained in line with relevant regulations (e.g. FERPA, HIPAA, etc.) for the purpose of video surveillance and access control data.

14.

Monitors and manages the software, hardware and firmware of the district's unified security systems and cameras, for the purpose of ensuring optimal functionality and reliability for video retrieval and archival, access control systems, and intrusion systems and alerts.

15.

Prepares documentation (e.g. incident reports, system logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing insights and support to key stakes holders regarding system performance and incidents.

16.

Responds to urgent requests regarding security camera concerns for the purpose of accessing control issues including immediate footage retrieval or system malfunctions.

17.

Reviews and analyzes current configuration of unified security systems for the purpose of ensuring compliance with best practices and organizational security standards.

18.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the district's unified security systems.
