DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT: The purpose of this position is that the Patient Access Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all patient access and scheduling areas of MCNDH. Duties to include but not limited to guidance, monitoring of Quality Assurance measures, and oversight in ongoing staff training. The goal of this position is to ensure high quality service for patients and accuracy of information affecting both pre and post visit services. This position is located at the Council Oak Comprehensive Healthcare in Tulsa, OK.
REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree required. A minimum of ten (10) years Patient Access/Scheduling and management.
EVALUATION METHODS: Applicants who meet the requirements described above will be evaluated to determine the extent to which they possess or have the potential to acquire knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal characteristics (KSAP's) required of this position. Applicants should address the following KSAP's on a separate attachment to their application.
- Advanced knowledge patient access and scheduling processes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Codes.
- Advanced knowledge of third-party insurance coverage and the process to obtain authorization for services.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles.
- General knowledge of insurance claim forms.
- Advanced knowledge of common business software applications and ability to train end users in desktop applications.
- Excellent management and leadership skills to effectively motivate, manage and supervise subordinate staff in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Developed skills to communicate courteously and effectively with patients and their family, all relevant departments and their staff, and any other parties within the organization or other public both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (HER) system and the ability to correctly enter all data into the EHR, preferably EPIC.
- Knowledge of patient registration procedures in an ambulatory and non-ambulatory clinic.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
