Status: Part-time, non-exempt, permanent employee

Location: Remote - Southern California

Reports To: Director of Operations

Compensation: Hourly range $25 to $28 per hour, 401k

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Coordination
  • Bi-weekly Payroll Processing
  • Benefit Administration

Human Resources Coordination

  • Assist in hiring processes, including posting job ads, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Maintain and update employee records (personal data, job roles, benefits, etc.)
  • Support employee onboarding, including preparing new hire documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Monitor employee attendance, track leave balances (sick, vacation, etc.), and assist in managing time-off requests.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements related to HR practices.
  • Ensure company handbook is regularly reviewed and updated to remain in compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Support performance management processes, including scheduling performance reviews and maintaining review records.

Bi-weekly Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis for all employees, ensuring accuracy in pay, deductions, and benefits.
  • Review timesheets, reconcile payroll discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related tasks.
  • Administer state and federal leaves of absence.

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on payroll, recruitment, and employee relations.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • HR Certification

Prefered Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience using payroll platforms (iSolved, ADP, and/or Paychex)
