Innovation and creativity come from the unique perspectives of a diverse staff. We value your perspective.

Who We Are

As science and technology increasingly shape our lives, the Museum of Science strives to equip and inspire everyone to use science for the global good while keeping up with the pace of change. Among the world's largest science centers and New England's most attended cultural institution, we engage nearly five million people a year – at Science Park and in museums around the world, in classrooms, and online.

The Museum's singular location connecting Boston and Cambridge puts us at the junction of some of the world's most influential academic institutions and industries, local and state government, schools, and the public. Trusted by each sector, we are ideally positioned to convene, inspire, and create meaningful experiences for all. Come join us on our mission to inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone and living our vision for a world where science belongs to each of us for the good of all of us.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Support a small, dexterous team in the production of a dynamic array of programming and events that fuse STEM with art, culture, and humanities, through collaborations with scientists, artists, thought leaders, and community builders, in order to provide one-of-a-kind nightlife experiences for diverse, 18 adult audiences in Greater Boston and beyond.
  • Assist in on-going event logistics preparation, communications, and meetings, as well as night-of event production setups, tech checks, and front of house/guest service.
  • Promote upcoming events through the maintenance of external calendar listings, the cultivation of relevant direct email outreach contacts, and aiding in the coordination of direct email campaigns as well as social media scheduling, assets, copy, and partner handles for paid social ads and organic posts.

What We're Looking For

  • Flexibility/Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes effectively with complexity and change.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Actively participates in fostering an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all people. Elevated, valued and respected underrepresented perspectives, needs, and preferences in your work. Participate in opportunities that the Museum provides to learn about and engage in this work. Reflects on their own biases to challenge inequitable beliefs, cultures and practices.
  • Collaboration: Works as a productive member of a group toward a common goal. Contributes to team discussions, seeks out and works with others, and encourages others to contribute to the process to improve the team's efforts towards their goals.
  • Attention to detail: Does not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project.
  • Creativity / Innovation: Generates new and innovative approaches to problems.
  • Work ethic: Possesses a strong willingness to work hard and sometimes long hours to get the job done. Has a track record of working hard.

When/Where You'll Work

  • Onsite, max 28 hours per week
  • $15.25 an hour
  • Flexible schedule, some evenings may be required
