What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drum Teacher position at Music 1st?
Are you a great drummer, looking for a great opportunity? We're looking for a drummer that understands that one of the most important things for them as a musician, for the world, and the future of music, is that you are a part of the mission to pass on their knowledge and to inspire others to do great things with music.
We are looking for a drummer that understands that teaching music is (and should be) highly relational, and want to develop those relations. We are looking for musicians that want to grow as a musician; and teaching is a guaranteed path to growth if you care about your students and their needs and their growth! Not to mention, what really could be a better job than being a part of a team of great people doing important work in the community that pays well, and they get to choose their own schedule?!!
To be qualified you must know all the rudiments and fundamentals, and read at an extremely high level and be able to sight read well, and be committed to teaching students the same. If you have the same abilities on other instruments you could teach so much more, if you desire.
Must be good people. Professional, effective and on the ball as communicators. Have good time management, and be willing to teach and take the music and how we teach it seriously. If you are able to teach other instruments you could probably get even busier quicker (piano is the most requested instrument). You must know all of your scales and be able to read well to teach piano.
