Music Box, a vibrant and growing music school with locations in Germantown and Collierville, TN, is seeking a part-time Drum Educator (up to 30 hours per week) to teach acoustic and electronic drums, as well as rhythm and music theory, in both individual and group settings.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a smart, people-savvy educator who is hungry to grow, humble in their approach, and passionate about inspiring students of all ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Embrace and follow the Music Box teaching method, policies, and code of conduct.
- Teach acoustic and electronic drums while incorporating rhythm and music theory.
- Prepare lessons tailored to individual and group needs.
- Engage students by creating a fun, positive, and inspiring learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular coaching and feedback.
- Use technology and creative tools to enhance the learning experience.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administrators.
- Maintain a tidy and organized teaching space.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and participate in staff meetings.
- Contribute to workshops, camps, and special events as needed.
- Adapt to flexible weekly schedules to meet the needs of students and the school.
Required Qualifications:
- Formal training in drum performance and music education.
- Strong foundation in music theory.
- Passion for teaching contemporary music styles and genres.
- A self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment.
- A positive, “can-do” attitude and a commitment to professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Ability to teach additional instruments (e.g., guitar, piano, voice) or music production.
- Experience performing live in a variety of settings.
- Fluency in Spanish or another language is a bonus.
- Experience teaching drums and rhythm to students aged 4 and older, as well as adults.
