Clinic Navigator
Job Summary
Meets with patients, in person, when they arrive for their appointments and conducts patient interviews to record information necessary for their visit and/or treatment. The Navigator also assists with guidance of the patient’s routine for his or her visit and answers questions that do not require the expertise of a licensed professional.
General Responsibilities
Communicate with patients clearly, effectively with empathy, integrity, and accuracy
Assist clients with finding an available appointment
Assist clients with finding a PCP or supporting services if requested
Use systems and tools to access data to effectively manage clinic operations
Follow goals, objectives, policies, protocols, procedures, and systems established for the clinic
Demonstrate working knowledge of all major clinic sections: communication, exam, lab, navigation, and outreach
Review forms and update patient information used within the practice
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and privacy according to the clinic’s policies and procedures and HIPAA compliance
Foster teamwork within the clinic
Contribute to great experiences for patience through showcraft by keeping areas generally tidy and alerting the appropriate staff when hazards appear.
Orient patients to clinic facilities and expected patient experience
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Must work effectively with medical providers, staff, volunteers, patients, public and external agencies
Skills in gathering and interpreting data in a physician office setting
Must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment according to organization standards
