What are the responsibilities and job description for the Roman Catholic Musician Accompanist Pianist Organist or Guitarist position at Music Ministry International?
The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. General: This is a non-personnel services contract to provide Civilian Musician Services (Roman Catholic). The
Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government.
1.1 Description of Services/Introduction: The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform
Civilian Musician Services (Roman Catholic ) as defined in this Performance Work Statement except for those items specified as government furnished property and services. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract.
1.1.1 Background: The contractor shall provide distinctive professional support to the Catholic population by providing worship music at up to fifty-three (53) Sunday Worship Services and eight (8) Holy Day Services as determined by the Religious Support Office and per the dictates of the Roman Catholic Church.
1.2. Qualifications
1.2.1. Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in music OR a minimum of two years of experience playing piano or organ in a liturgical church or Chapel setting.
1.2.2. Shall be familiar with a wide range of Catholic music to include the traditional, contemporary, and liturgical styles.
1.2.3. Shall be able to read music, teach vocal music part and harmony and demonstrate this ability on the piano, organ or guitar.
1.2.4. A letter of good standing from the Contractor’s local parish priest shall be furnished with initial quote documentation. The letter must state the individual is familiar with liturgical year, liturgy planning and Catholic music ministries. Letter must be no older than 6 months.
2.1. Basic Services. The contractor will be required to perform music at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
2.2. Catholic Services. The contractor shall provide distinctive professional support to the Catholic population by performing worship music selections up to fifty-three (53) Sunday Worship Services and eight (8) Holy Day
Services as determined by the Religious Support office and per the dictates of the Roman Catholic Church.
2.3 Duty Times: The contractor will be required to be at Chapel, building 1759 from 0900-1100 on days of Worship.
Times of Holy Days of Obligation will be determined by the Religious Support Office staff.
