About the Job:
We are looking for an energetic and eager individual to join our Accounting & Finance team for the summer! Throughout your internship, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the diverse facets of construction, while contributing significantly to the Accounting & Finance team. Where: Musselman & Hall office in Overland Park, Kansas
Hours: Typical full-time work schedule (40 hours/week)
Pay: $19 - 21 an hour (will depend on experience)
Responsibilities
- Data entry including entering accounts payable invoices, job billings, and inventory tickets
- Aid Accountant II and Staff Accountant with setting up jobs in Vista
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and vendor statements
- Review and maintain vendor compliance
- Perform general ledger account analysis
- Shadow supervisor with month-end close and assist as needed
- Develop internal dashboards to illustrate project and company performance
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and as-needed requests
School Requirements
- Actively enrolled in an accounting or finance-related degree program, having completed at least one year and in good academic standing
- Ability to provide internship requirements required through the related major or school
Other Requirements
- Ability to work full-time hours at the M&H Overland Park Office
- Familiarity with computer programs such as Google Docs and Sheets
- May be required to navigate an active job site
- Interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication
- A willingness to learn
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely navigate an active worksite. Occasionally walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and loud noises
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
