JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Finance and Operations is responsible for overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the institution. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight to ensure the university's goals are met. RESPONSABILITIES:
Financial Management:
· Develop and implement financial strategies to support the university's goals.
· Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (federal, local and international).
· Manage financial risks and opportunities.
· Lead financial responsibility as required by accrediting agency.
Operational Oversight:
· Oversee the daily operations of the university, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
· Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
· Coordinate with various departments to streamline processes and improve performance.
· Ensure the university's infrastructure supports its educational mission.
Strategic Planning:
· Participate in the development of the university's strategic plan.
· Align financial and operational strategies with the university's long-term goals.
· Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team.
Collaboration & Reporting:
· Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to support their financial and operational needs.
· Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports on financial and operational performance.
· Present financial and operational updates to the board of directors and other stakeholders.
Supervision Responsibilities:
· Supervise the finance, IT, facilities, and safety teams.
· Ensure the effective management of IT infrastructure and services.
· Oversee facilities management and ensure a safe working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
· Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in higher education finance and operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Language Skills
· Bilingual - Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, Spanish or Portuguese proficiency is required.
