Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer Intern

Position Overview 

The Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer Intern will play a crucial role in assisting with the development and implementation of a metric data-based strategy aimed at enhancing the performance of our automated lines. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking hands-on experience in maintenance operations, encompassing various stages such as research, design, testing, project management, and documentation. Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• 
  Participate in the development of project plans and timelines, including defining project scope and goals, identifying requirements, estimating project resources, and establishing project schedules.
• 
  Conduct research, analysis, and technical evaluations of how the maintenance departments work and how it can be improved.
• 
  Assist in the creation of project documentation, including project plans, technical specifications, design and test documents, and reports.
• 
  Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and manufacturing engineering, to ensure project success.
• 
  Provide technical support to the technical team once the project is ready to be implemented.
• 
  Keep up to date on new projects assigned to maintenance, including emerging technologies and processes, and share knowledge with the team.
• 
  Monitor machines’ performance, inspect and gather all technical and historical data to support/improve the reliability centered maintenance program.
• 
  Support asset criticality and manage equipment database.
• 
  Support standardizes approaches to preventive/predictive maintenance tasks and repair techniques.
• 
  Use AutoCAD / Creo to generate machine or P&ID diagrams.

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• 
  Minimum of 2 years completed towards a bachelor's degree in engineering. If you are a recent graduate, you must be within 1 year of your graduation date.
• 
  Mechanical/industrial engineering emphasis preferred.
• 
  No experience required.

Physical Demands

  Extended time sitting, standing, and viewing of computer screen(s)
• 
  Infrequent lifting up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment 

• 
  Office setting in manufacturing/distribution facility environment
• 
  Some exposure to plant and warehouse environment including heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and significantly loud noise; Exposure to moving mechanical parts online, as well as moving equipment throughout the factory or warehouse.
• 
  Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which the company provides, following all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including Mustad Performance System (MPS)
