Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced landscape/construction hardscape supervisor to lead our landscape maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. This role requires hands-on involvement in various landscaping tasks, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily landscape maintenance activities, including lawn care, tree care, and groundskeeping.
- Lead a team of landscape technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure quality workmanship.
- Plan and execute landscape projects, from initial design to installation, including planting, irrigation, and maintenance.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition; perform routine inspections and repairs as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their landscaping needs and provide exceptional customer service.
- Train new team members on best practices in landscape maintenance and safety protocols.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
1. Experience & Knowledge
- 3–5 years of hands-on landscape and hardscape installation experience
- Paver patio installation (ICPI standards preferred)
- Retaining walls (SRW systems, drainage, geogrid)
- Walkways, steps, and land grading
- Skid steer and mini skid operation
- Base prep, compaction, and elevation control
- Familiarity with regional soil types and drainage challenges (e.g. Central PA terrain)
2. Leadership & Management
- Prior experience leading a crew (2–5 team members)
- Ability to delegate tasks, set daily goals, and keep projects on schedule
- Strong communication skills with both crew and clients
- Conflict resolution and team motivation skills
3. Equipment Operation
- Competent with:
- Skid steers and mini skid steers
- Dump trucks and hauling materials
- Saws, compactors, lasers, and hand tools
- Basic preventative maintenance on equipment
4. Jobsite Oversight
- Reads and interprets landscape plans and grade specs
- Manages materials on-site efficiently
- Ensures jobsite safety (OSHA awareness a plus)
- Maintains clean and professional job sites
5. Professionalism & Client Interaction
- Comfortable speaking with clients during installs
- Able to adapt to mid-project changes without losing time
- Represent the company brand with professionalism and pride
6. Credentials (Preferred but Not Required)
- ICPI or NCMA certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a bonus)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Basic understanding of snow removal operations (seasonal versatility)
- Proven knowledge of:
